The inverter compressor varies its speed to match the room's load instead of just cycling on/off, holding a steadier temperature while using up to 56% less energy cooling and 75% less energy heating than a standard PTAC.
Is this a heat pump or electric heat?
Heat pump. It heats with an efficient inverter-driven heat pump rated at 14,000 Btu/h (COP 3.70), rated for up to 100% heating capacity down to 5°F outdoor ambient.
Do I need a sleeve and grille?
Yes. A standard 42-inch PTAC wall sleeve (CH-PTSLV1) and exterior grille (CH-PTGRL1) are required. The base unit excludes them; choose the bundle option to include them.
What electrical does it need?
208/230V-1Ph-60Hz on a dedicated circuit with an LCDI power cord. Confirm your panel with a licensed electrician.
Can I use my own thermostat?
Yes — beyond the included remote, it supports the optional 120N wired control or the CH-WTH24V smart thermostat (both sold separately), and the CH-WTH24V is also compatible with any 3rd-party 24V thermostat.
How is it installed?
It slides into a 42-inch PTAC sleeve through an exterior wall — self-contained, no outdoor unit or refrigerant lines. Professional install recommended.
